So *GwenithCoy tagged me today to do a meme that I've seen floating around, and I figured, what the heck. I like reading these things on people's journals, so I might as well do one myself, huh?

1) I love to travel. I've been to France, Spain, Germany, Austria, and Great Britain, on top of countless places across the US. If there's one thing I truly enjoy it's traveling and going to places that are steeped in history.

2) I'm a terrible artist. Like, I can't draw to save my life, terrible. You want a stick figure? Sure, no problem. But a beautiful work of art? ... Give me a pencil and a piece of paper, and I'll write something awesome for you instead.

3) All my favorite foods begin with the letter p. No, this is not an obsessive compulsive type thing; it was something I realized the other day when I was writing up a grocery list and saw a whole line of food items that started with p. Kinda freaked me out, to be honest.

4) My tastes in music are really eclectic. I'll listen to anything that has a melody and a good intensity behind it, and I love writing to music. When I get hit by a nasty case of writer's block, it's always some new type of music that snaps me out of it.

5) I love photography and nature-themed prints. I'm trying to join a photography club so I can work on making my own amazing pictures -- I took over 600 pictures when I went to Great Britain last summer, but only five of them had any real feeling to them. I'm hoping through the club, I'll learn what it takes to repeat that more often.

6) I'm growing addicted to TF toys. Like, they're starting to take over my room addicted. My bookshelf was already stuffed to the gills with books, but now I've got TFs crammed into any available space, and good luck getting into the top drawer of my jewelry box.

7) I've got an 18 year old cat who acts like a kitten. Seriously. She's taken to lying in wait for me and attacking my ankles, making it look like I don't know how to shave, and then she'll race from one end of the house to another, chasing something only she can see. She has also decided that after 18 years of hating being picked up and set on someone's lap that she is now a lap-kitty.

8) I am a huge sci-fi/fantasy nut, though I lean more towards the sci-fi end of the spectrum. Years of growing up with Star Wars and Star Trek does that to a person, I think. (To get an idea of my level of geek-itude, I was once able to tell you the actual model number of the Lambda-class shuttle that's in Return of the Jedi. And I can still tell you the difference between a swoop and a speeder. Yeah. Sad, huh?)

So that's it for the eight random facts. Since I don't think anyone really watches my journal here, I'm not going to tag anyone. If you stumble across this somehow and decide to do it, be my guest.

So okay, I've been a lurker here on DA for ages. (Ages in this case being years) In any case, I got fed up with being unable to view anything under a "Mature Content" filter, and it just kept eating at me until I threw up my hands and joined. A word of warning: I draw, but no where near to the skill of many other people present here. My skill is in writing, so I may post some of my one-shots, just to have something up here.
